You need to wean slowly and gently. This will give your body time to step down production and it will also make the adjustment easier for baby.

minimum the pumping and the breast to mouth feedings. Everytime you breast feed your body is creating a blueprint of how much milk to produce, try less and less each time and your body will slow down production and lessen the pain as well, do not take hot showers, the hot water relaxes the muscles around the breast allowing leakage....warm to cool-like showers will help decrease your supply

If you want it gone completely then the Doc can give you something to dry it up.
Mine went away after a few days. It really only hurt bad for a day or 2.
You could try pumping some just to relieve pressure but that will make more come in later.

My wife is Chinese and apparently every Chinese woman knows that eating sprouts (the long, thin kinds you find in salads) is what you do when you want to stop your breast milk. She swears by it.

Sounds strange, but I read about this so I asked my lactation consultant. Cold cabbage leaves. They help sooth and there is a chemical in them that helps dry them up. I went on Yasmin (Low-dose birth control pill) and was pain free in a couple of days.

Warming cabbage leaves a bit and using them as a compress works. They enzymes in the warm cabbage do something... not sure what..but that's what I've heard from midwives.

It will hurt for a little while. Wear a tight bra..even to bed and in the shower.

use a breast pump like you would if you was breast feeding it helped me for a few week i feel so sorry 4 you it murders
