Hi, I am 23 years of age with a bachelor degree in Computers. I recently, realized that computers may not be my thing anymore. I want to pursue acting. Problem is: I think I might be too old and don't have any acting experience. Should I pursue it or not?

Don't give up your DAY job, but pursue what you love. Try to get into local theater groups and other venues.

Good luck

If you are sure you want to be an actor go for it fully. Theres no point doing amateur shows if you want to make acting your career, because you will never get anywhere if you don't fully commit to it.
You have no experience- then get yourself a private tutor and work on audition pieces for drama school. Training is an absolute must, as it will teach you technique, voice and movement skills and also give you a launch into the profession. As for which drama school, look at the National Conference of Drama schools website (www.ncdt.co.uk).
You are certainly not too old, if fact most drama schools prefer mature students who have some life experience as you will be more sure of yourself and have more to offer. I am an actor, and can tell you that some people are well into their 40's and 50's before they train.
You only have one life, so live it the way you want to, and if that means acting then do it. Just make sure you are in it for a love of the craft and not just because you are "fame hungry", there are too many people like that overcrowding the profession as it is, and these are the ones that fall by the wayside.

Yes, of course, pursue an acting career. One is never too old to become an actor. Call the Drama Department of the University and Community College in your city and ask them to recommend acting schools.

It's never too late to pursue a dream! If you have the passion and the drive, you can achieve anything you set your mind to...many great actors began their careers in their 30's, 40's and even beyond that...

You can do it!! Good luck!

the grass is really greener. look...you're 23 use some common sense. try out for some community plays. take an acting class at the YMCA or local college...see if you like it...if you are good at it. it is a really hard life, and chances are you aren't going to get anywhere. you have to have the passion and the drive or you won't make it at all. you can't become distracted or discouraged. I'm not saying don't try...but really try to see if you realistically want to act...or if you just want to see your name in lights. BIG difference.

Age has nothing to do with it - I'm sure I've heard of several actors that came to the art "late". I don't understand why age should be a factor, but income might be (you will need to find someplace to practice and tryout, but "actors workshops" abound, even if just with community theater groups).

see if it's a phase first. if you've got a drama a level you could do another degree in theatre studies.
you could always just join a local/community amateur dramatics company and have it as a hobby. good luck !
