I tell my daughters that God is real, but Santa is not. I do not lie to my children. We were in Wal-Mart yesterday and she saw "Santa," and yelled out, "Hey, Mama. There's that fake Santa guy!" It was cute, but you should've seen the looks from some of the other parents! I just said, "Yes, honey, I see him," and walked on by,

I don't have kids but I do have a three year old nephew that believes in Santa Claus. And why shouldn't he. Let children believe in magic while they can because life will take away that innocence soon enough. Not to mention, its a bit of a control factor because what kid doesn't want to get presents from Santa on Christmas Day?

I was taught about Santa. I was hurt when I found out I'd been lied to but I got over it. It's a wonderful story.

First of all, you are comparing apples with oranges. Santa is only thought of for one month out of the whole year. Plus, I haven't seen any kids worshipping Santa. Now if you were to compare Santa and Jesus...I'd say they were both mythical beings. I'm sure Jesus was a live man walking on this earth; however, turning water into wine and feeding thousands on a few loaves of bread and fish is just as magical as Santa flying in a sled and swooping down chimneys delivering presents within a 24 hour time frame. That's not to say that I don't believe in God, because I do, but if you or any Christian were to go inwards and ponder this, you'd realize that we all come from the same tree and that we are all a part or all sons/daughters of God. As for poor Santa, what's wrong with allowing our children some magic and wonder in their lives? It's bad enough that adults refuse to see the magic of this world.

Of course I tell my son Santa is real! And you know why? 'Cause as a matter of fact he did actually exist: his name was Nicholas and he was a Turkish priest bringing gifts to kids;)...About God, although I'm not religious, I told my son about Jesus too; you don't have to believe he was God's Son to learn from his teaching, do you? About God, I put no pressure on my son, he's free to develope his own opinion about religion, main thing is that he should read and learn about all religions first and then decide what to believe in; atheist or believer doesn't make difference for me as long as he'll grow up with good values.
