Good point. Both parties have been hijacked. The dems by the fsr left and the repubs by the far right. Both's thirst for power knows no bounds. The far right and far left only account for 15% of our population yet they have cleverly managed to create a pendulum effect. Both are happy to take turns wielding the power and the benefits that go along with it. Time for viable 3rd and fourth parties to balance the power even further so America's true voice could be heard around the world with a roar.

I vote libertarian as often as I can find a candidate on the ballot, where as republicans and democrats are often the only choice , a lesser of two evils, the problem is the Libertarian party hasnt sold out yet so they dont have the $$ for ads and other expenses these days which is what it takes to get elected. And of course the repbs & dems vote early and vote often!

I can't condemn both parties completely. Both sides have great ideas and aspirations as well as some bad mojo going on. We need a change in the way our government works, that is a given because it ....DOES....NOT....WORK. Many of the people are feeling disenfranchised and unrepresented these days. I for one would love to see a third party emerge. One that is unaffected or at least less affected by lobbyists and corporate interests. I can't dismiss out of hand either Democratic or Republican parties, both have great plans as well as self interest. We need a balance. As to how this might be brought about, well, that may be something for those more intelligent than I.

when it comes to decisions, I believe, party ID does not make much difference.. Democrates or Republicans take over the Congress, the general rules are always the same.. both parties have to obey those rules...
Even though U.S has a two-party system, there are only 10 % of strong liberal democrates and 10% of extreme conservative republicans. U.S public opinion is neutral - conservative democrates/ liberal repablicans.

Yes. Political parties are merely an illusion, because THIS secret and evil group has been in control of everything for far too long!...

Seems to me that Pres. Bush is a Republican and he didn't have any trouble telling the UN to go screw itself.

THE LIBS WON'T DO IT EITHER. WE DO NEED A BETTER CHOICE POOL IN THIS COUNTRY. THE DEMS AND REPS ARE DOMINATING THE POLITICAL SCENE AND THEY ARE BRINGING VERY LITTLE TO THE TABLE.
