This past Valentine's Day weekend, I went on a small trip with my bf (of 2.5 months then) and skipped out on my best friend's (of 10+ years) b-day party. I felt terrible about it. Was I wrong in doing that? I celebrate my friend's b-day with her later by taking her out to dinner.

BTW - every year it's going to fall this way. my friend's bday is near valentine's day. so on the years my bf and i want to go on a trip for v-day, is it wrong that i'm ditching my friend on her b-day?

Also, i did take her out afterwards last year.
