I am not for or against a play-off. I absolutely love the March Madness and how the NCAA basketball tourney works! Cannot work in football because it would add 6 games to the schedule, if there is a tourney it can only include 4-6 teams, and will add 2-3 more games, and should start early December!
That being said I do not have a problem at all with how the BCS has worked in the past! The BCS is determined mostly by voters, the voters voted OSU and Florida and the BCS confirmed! Why are so many people complaining about this? The BCS rankings do not determine anything except the Championship game. BCS rankings didn't pick Michigan vs USC in the Rose Bowl, the Rose Bowl picked it! All BCS bowl games have ties to certain conferences, as they did before the BCS ever was though of!
There maybe other ways to determine national championships, but this is better than the old way, because the old way Ohio State would be playing USC in the Rose Bowl, and if USC won they would not be Champions, because they have 2 losses. Florida would be in the Sugar Bowl playing Notre Dame, and if Notre Dame won they would not be champions either.
Ever since the start of college football there has been a bowl system just neve before did it put #1 against #2. Why do we have such a hard time with this? I know because our team is better than Florida (which my team is! Go Blue!!!) .
All I am saying is that if this year were the old way, we would have a huge mess this year!!!
I think a play-off would be exciting, but if it doesn't happen I am fine with the BCS. Last years championship game was one of the best games I've ever watched!

I am tired of everyone talking about the screwed up BCS...why can't the presidents and A.D.'s get together and finally make a decision on this problem...every year someone is going to get screwed over this system....we did in 2004 when we went 13-0 in the SEC and Oklahoma and USC played for it and USC only played 2 to 3 good teems that year..
This system S U C K S!!!

IMHO, the BCS system is definitely flawed...but I think a playoff would be disastrous. To tell you the truth, I think the BCS worked well this year, pitting OSU and Florida against each other...some people think Michigan deserves a rematch but that would just be dumb...say they would get a rematch and beat OSU...do you mean to tell me that OSU deserves to not win the Nat'l championship because they split with Michigan 1-1? Michigan had their chance and didn't do it, now it's only fair that another team get a shot.

The BCS is a Beauty Contest, not a true way of picking #1 and #2. They have too many strings attached to their rules to truly make it fair. It's all about the money. Making sure it is spread around. A playoff is the only fair way.

Alough money is very important, the BSC also has some good qualites aside from money. If thier was a college playoff system that game USC played aginst UCLA wouldn't have mattered. USC would have benched its starters the same way NFL teams do in the last weeks of the season.

Yes, it's flawed because it's all about the Benjamins instead of the battle for number 1. They want the "sexiest" matchup for ratings/profits sake and not necessarily the most DESERVING teams matched up.

I think it is. I do think it is all about the money and there should be different systems other than the current one. I think the playoff system would be better.

It's about money. They sell naming rights and make money that way. Look how they added the 5th game for the National Championship. Any doubt that was to make even MORE money?
