Hey,

I've been asked to create a short video montage to be inserted into the front of a powerpoint presentation. Powerpoint is something i've very rarely used. Is this possible? what format/codec is best for powerpoint?

I need to have this done for tomorrow afternoon, so i'm kinda crapping myself, as this is something i've never done before. Is there anything i should know about this?

Any help or advice very welcome, cheers - Dave.

If you have the video that you want to insert saved in your documents, go to the slide that you want the video to appear on and then go to insert, movies and sounds, and then choose movie from file.

Hope this helps

Getting a video clip into powerpoint is different from creating a video clip that can be used in Powerpoint. To Create the Video clip, use windows Movie maker or Adobe Premiere Pro. To insert a ready video into PowerPoint, Go to Insert Menu, Movies and Sounds, and then Movies from file. Browse to locate the video clip and then insert. Set its play properties and youre good to go.

I've used Mpeg and .AVI, PowerPoint is user friendly and this includes videos(assuming you're using office 2003) or later. You have the option to start the video automatically or on the first click.
Start practising with new presentation, sure you'll have it down to pat in a few hours.

Hi Dave

This is something I do often and have found this codec and set up works very nicely, creating small file sizes so that the video runs smoothly.

Export the video from your chosen editor programme as an mpg4 .wmv it has good sound sync. if you need that. Use 640x480 as the dimensions, 100% image quality, 1250 bit rate.

Good luck

Keith
