i ask people that all the time and no one knows what they are called! I myself call them flats because people understood what i meant better than when I called them "those shoes everyone wears"!!!

Among the shoe literate, that's what's called a "ballerina flat" or a "ballet flat"; it's similar in shape to a ballet point shoe. They used to be primarily a flat version of a pump, but now shoe designers are jazzing them up with sneaker soles, waffle stomper soles, canvas uppers, etc.

They are such simple slip ons (with some color fabric). . .
they are soooo simple that they really do not warrent any other special name (unless someone has no other life)
