There will always be conflicts...look at it on a much smaller scale and take a family of 6 living in the same house....sooner or later there's fights and most fights are usually because someone was selfish or greedy.

This is why history is important. You should already know this. Europe is one piece of land. And those nations battled each other for centuries before they learned to live together peacefully. And then it took capitalistic bribery to do it.
