Would you pretend that you didn't know?

This has pretty much happened to me, literally and psychologically. I have been betrayed and I have discovered lies in what I thought were sacred places. With these experiences I have basically assigned a deceptive quality to everything so as not to be taken by surprise again. So basically my reaction to these deceptions has been to take everything with a grain of salt. The truth hurt at first but what hurt more was how blind I was.

Oh and let me not forget what happened between all of this. I was basically suicidal and drunk for a few years before I got it together.

As in what? It solely depends on the lie and the one who lied.
Obviously to protect ones family in a situation would take priority. If people were to be hurt I'd take action. If it was just a matter of being lied to by some insignificant person and my ego was bruised, I'd move on. That's why karma exists. :-)

I think I'd be in denial for some time.
Then, slowly, I'd start facing the new reality and replacing the deceptive old foundation with the new. I suppose I'd become more bitter and cynical, too.

Adjust and adapt......it sucks, but what else ya gonna do?? Pretending it isnt true will only last so long and then you are back at square one.....deal with it now.

Accept it and move on. I mean what else can you do? Fall apart? Not likely for me. I prefer to get over it and move on.
