How long does it take to learn guitar ?

Lets just say...I've been playing for over 20yrs. and I still learn something new every day...
but to get good at it I would say 2-3 yrs practice.
but then again there are some ppl I've met who are pretty good who claim they've only been playing a year.

Dedication is probably the biggest factor, but the kind of instruction you receive is also going to be crucial. Some people also have alot more aptitude than others. I've been playing for about 2 years, and I know several songs, but I also know people who were better than me in a matter of months.

depends on your dedication. i play bass, and it took me about a year to master, but i practice 2 hours a day, rain or shine.
