sweetie, the best thing to do is to stop drinking all together, u don't want to harm your baby but if u continue to drink the chances for you going into premature labor and having a baby with low birth weight and possibly defects will be higher, for you baby's sake take care of your body eat healthy drink water, not beer, and enjoy you precious one once he/she is born

Before I found out that I was pregnant with my daughter five years ago, I used to be out at bars on the weekends and drinking of course, probably more than I should have been no matter what my condition! The last time I drank I thought nothing of being pregnant, but when I was late the next week, I went to the health unit and found that I was pregnant, I was around 14 weeks, and I was stressing myself out the entire 9 months because I couldn't believe how dumb I had been, I kept thinking that I should have known I was pregnant. Needless to say, I carried to term and gave birth to a baby girl of 6lbs 7oz and 21 1/2in. 100% healthy! And I haven't touch the alcohol stuff since then! So I think that everything should be ok, but please make appt with your doctor so you can stop worrying and just enjoy being pregnant!! Good Luck!

You shouldnt drink at all when you're pregnant, and you certainly should never have enough to effect the way you feel, be it a light buzz or completely drunk.

Theoretically the more pregnant you get the more alcohol effects the fetus in smaller amounts. Early on, before you really know you're pregnant, the fetus doesnt have a connection with your blood supply yet, as the placenta isnt formed until about the 8-10th week. So drinking doesnt directly effect the growing baby, however, after that point anything you drink, the baby also drinks, and since itsbody is only growing and not just living, it effects how it grows.

It leads to physical deformities in the baby (missing eyes, misshapen limbs) learning disabilities, failure to thrive as a baby and child... it doesnt kill them unless you drink heavily, but it does screw them up for LIFE.

Way to go. Ruining your babies life just so you can feel good and drink a beer. Grow up and get yourself some help.

It's generally not advisable to drink alcohol during a pregnancy, but from what I've read on the subject, you haven't consumed enough to actually hurt the baby. You should be fine. (Don't take my word for it, though - talk to your OB!!)

I read somewhere that women in Europe drink like one glass of red wine a week or something like that during their pregnancy. I think I might have my facts wrong, however.

Seriously, though, ask your doctor at your next appointment. Oh, and get a copy of What to Expect When You're Expecting.

Good luck, and hopefully the baby will be fine. (A friend of mine got a depo-provera shot, had sex a couple days after, got pregnant anyway, and Savanna is just fine now. No birth defects, no mental retardation, just a healthy little baby girl.)

Definately NO more drinking. But, the little bit you say you have drank will most likely have no effects on the fetus. I am sure your doctor will reassure you as well. Stay strong, you only have 22 wks left without beer.

You do need to stop drinking any alcohol. If you've only had one beer four separate times, then you probably did not harm your baby. But if you continue to drink, you may very well end up with a child who has fetal alcohol syndrome. If you think you won't be able to stop drinking without help, then talk to your doctor.

Most likely there will be no damage. Being a pregnant teen is a higher risk then a couple of beers.

Didn't your doctor talk to you about dangers when you went for your first check up?
