Fake, because you don't have to clean up after it!
But the real ones smell really pretty. The only reason I would not want a real one is that it gets messy. But if you're planning to get a real one, go tree hunting with a hot guy... makes a good date!

Fake this year - last year we didn't have one at all - it was a little warm and the real ones sometimes get buggy. I do like and miss the live tree smell.
But we don't have to lug it in, get all pitchy, trim the trunk to fit in the holder, hold it upright while trying to rotate it and tighten the screws, water it, water it some more, sweep dead needles, haul the tree out, spill the water, and hope that the kids didn't hear you say that word when you spilled the water.

I have a fake one, but I don't care for me it is easier and less stressful. That is why I chose to have a fake one, but growing up it was a big deal to have a real one. Maybe if I ever have a family I will start that tradition, also.

I think a "FAKE TREE" is best, due to the fact that you don't have to purchase another tree every year( well for at least for the 2-3 years, I think).

Real. I enjoy it more. Most of the time growing up we had a fake one. I always enjoyed it more when we had a real one. My wife and I have always had a real one since we were married 23 yrs ago. A fake one just seems...FAKE.

We have a real tree, but not an ordinary fir or pine. My daughter and I went out and found an old, dead tree with lots of interesting branches. We cleaned it up and painted it white...potted in in a big pot and hung our decorations on it. To keep with the "natural" element of the tree, we made pinecone ornaments. I think it looks awesome.

I love the real ones! I have the fake ones sometimes too, but the real is my favorite.

Fake. For the first time in my life. I'm stationed in Germany and the real ones over here aren't very pretty...plus I'm not lugging it up stairs...

I have a fake tree because a real tree is such a hassle.

Real, but I've already announced that I was against real trees (allergies!) and would not be cleaning up after it. Someone else can do that. And it was delivered last night. I found it this morning when I woke up. God bless father-in-laws who work late!
