Well, some of them are getting jobs that they wouldn't otherwise get. People are going into computer science a lot there (working for $10k a year).

globalization is a means to help the rice maximize profits by finding places on the planet where they can get goods produced cheaper. It is not anything designed to help the poor. If one village in India is making rugs, globalization will enable the buyers of rugs to learn where there is another place that makes rugs cheaper, go there to buy rugs and put the village in India out of work. The rich support the rich. The rich want only more money. They are addicted to their greed and to getting more wealth. Globalization is the means they used to accomplish this.

globalization can be seen in the existance of large companies operation around the world rather than in one country. global companies operate like this to take advantage of cheep or skilled labour and benificial tax and trade regimes. many UK and US companies are transfering their call centres and I.T work to countries where labour is cheaper such as india, the philipppines and south africa.
the movement of jobs from britain and the us to call centres in india has been on a grand scale more than half the worlds top 500 companies now outsource either I.T or business processes to india. each transaction costs just 29 cents outsourcing cuts costs between 40% and 50%. it is estimated that by 2008 india will earn up to $28 billion from this phenomemon. (seabrook, 2003)
so, india benefits from globalization but the developed world are controling it and are using it for their own benefit.

Globalisation opens the window and allows the fresh air to come in. New ideas and thoughts, scientific technology and expertise will percolate the Indian soil. The inhabitants will definitely benefit. As to the poor, they will feel competitiveness and challenging atmosphere. It will also expose them to a new environment and prompt them to improve their lot.New opportunities will be at their door step. A cooped up atmosphere is bad for all.

its raising wages, and thus prices in many parts of the world, making it less attractive for me to visit there, and would make it less attractive buying their products except for the fact that the usa doesnt make anything anymore.
