The idea of waiting until ... I'd say, until about April, angers me - a lot. Sony uses the most sickening marketing stratagies, and that's a damn shame. People get hurt and that's wrong. However, objectively, looking at the hardware, the PS3 does seem head and shoulders above the competition. Am I so wrong? Why? Give me a reason why waiting should not be a virtue of necessity.

well....the ps3 is expensive...yea...but has alot to prove for its worth..even though u can get 2 360's for the price of one ps3...that doesnt matter at all if u know wat the ps3's potential is..
Like now im still waitin for the nezt shippment...don't know when but i'll wait till i get my hands on it...people hattin' on the ps3 mostly coz of the price but the fact is...its a powerful thing...and yea..for tht kind of money..is worth to wait but patience is killin some of us...so they goin for the "wii" or the 360..
Its worth the wait!..atleast u wont regret it once u finally have it...than goin for the 360 and later on the ps3 heat id off and is widely available in stores..

The price is pretty steep. From what I've heard and read, the PS3 is about equal to the 360 in many cases. They both have hard drives, wireless capability, and true next gen graphics. The DVD player on the PS3 is Sony's Blu Ray player which is a HD DVD player. As far as I'm concerned, that is one of the major differences. I've had a 360 since launch, and I absolutely love it. The graphics are stellar, and there are tons of games out already. I do plan on purchasing a PS3, but I don't see the point in waiting outside of a store all night just to get one. Just like the 360s, there will be stock on shelves sometime after the new year.

ps3 is a great system, although i dont have it and wont till the price goes down, its a great machine. Pretty much a computer(which it really is) and a blu-ray dvd player, which in retail costs like $1000 for stand alone players. PS3 only costs $500 or $600, but its both a computer and a blu-ray dvd player combined. Which acctually does seem like a good deal.

It does have a lot of potential, but still the other systems are superior to the PS3. Think of it as a movie that you can't wait to see and the rest of the world can't wait to see, but then you go and see the movie and it doesn't live up to the hype, the movie is just horrible. That is what I found the PS3 to be like.

In terms of a quality stand point, the ps3 and xbox360 are just sequels of their own products. The same can be said for the games such as Tony Hawk 8 (way too many sequels). Look at the Nintendo Wii and you get new innovation and simply fun games.
