I think if you truly love the freedoms you enjoy as being an American, then NO!! There are a lot of things that may offend people(s), but taking away their constitutional rights is out of the question.
In some circles, this word is considered a term of endearment. I know it sounds crazy, but that's exactly why some can say it and others can't. Let's just embrace the rights we have by virtue of living in a democracy.

No, book burning it stupid books with something to teach us and that have the "N" word for historical value should be saved....Huck Finn has it but it was a book teaching against the mistreatment of slaves...maybe add a disclaimer at the start of a book and a little history.

No. This would be censorship. The word by itself is harmless. There is nothing inherently wrong in using the word. You could also argue for the banning of any word, when used as a threat or insult, but you can see where that would lead.
The free exchange or expression of ideas would be destroyed.
