That of course, is merely anti-Chavez hysteria. I'm sure the poor in the US are pleased, because they were not going to get any breaks on the cost of heating oil from Exxon or Mobile. Americans love democracies, supposedly, so you must be happy that he was democratically elected, with out the doubts surrounding Bush's elections. Another major benefit, he is now in a position to help the trading block that will include Cuba, Bolivia, Chile, & Brazil.

One thing for sure, if the US government knows about it they won't being saying so. Admitting to anything Chavez does, is admitting to: Trying to destroy what he's doing!
At least, that's what Chavez will say.
I would just be guessing here but, while Bush is in office he probably has a bunch of eyes watching Chavez and his fans.
It wouldn't fair well for the US to have any South American neighbor involved with fanatical islam, much less training them,

If Chavez really wanted to do some kind of terrorist act, all he'd have to do is shut CITGO's program, were they are selling fuel for heat at cost to a quater of a million families in the middle of winter time!
