do you know what a paper shredder is? If you do then you know the answer. a virtual paper shredder is simply a piece of software for your computer that will shred your electronic document. such as confidential MS word documenst, pictures, saved emails, saves password(given they are in a document format) thats all

It's something like encryption where it scrambles all the information on your word documents so that if printed it appears to have been shredded.

virtual shredding is when the files that stored are either copied over or delibertly removed from the hard drive.
