I'm writing to you as a REDS fan and as of now the Cardinals are the better team. What I'm hoping for is that Bob Castllina the former owner of the Cardinals and now owner of the Reds can shape the team into a playoff team. Bob's first year he got the Reds to only 2 games under 500. With a full winter to make some moves this off season Bob may be able to bring in some more talent to bring the Reds to 90 to 95 wins which may get them the division or the wild card. GO REDS

The Cardinals won the WS, so were better last year and have won 7 more total WS than the Reds, so are beter all time.
Next year - it depends on what the Reds do in the off season, they were a few games under .500, so they should be able to improve. The Cards need to add 2 more starting pitchers.

That's easy, the Cardinals are better. Just look at their records over the past few years. They're always in first place or near the top in the NL Central. Not to mention their WS win this year.

Also, the Astros, Brewers, and even the sad Cubbies could be argued as being a better team than the Reds over the past few years.

alright, the cards look to spend lots of money on new aquisitions which dont always work out. Another minus to the cards is that they're in danger of losing several of their starters, Suppan, Weaver and Mulder to free agency.

The Reds on the other hand invested in a proven reliver that can be used the way the reds want to use him and a slick fielding shortstop both prolly among the least expensive moves so far.

The reds are prolly not there yet but the gap is evening

Well, considering the Cards just won the World Series....I'm going to have to go with them, they are the better team. They also had a better record after a 162 game season, so you can't use the "they just got hot at the right time" card.
