I always find that photo-frames are the best all-round gift for someone as a secret santa. There are cheaper ones through to the more expensive ones. You can get all sorts of wood, metal and material ones to suit any taste.
Everyone has a picture of a loved one that they can put in a frame so it is always a great gift!!
Good Luck.

Could you give a little bit more information.. Is it for a man, woman or child? how much has to be spent, this would narrow it down because that's such a big field for a secret santa.
cd's, neck wraps, those homeaids for sore backs, or the slippers that do that with memorie foam, cologne, perfume, gift certificates, etc. Or just plain cash in a card.

Personally, I like to give books for Christmas gifts. They seem more thoughtful than giving a gift card. Plus they can typically be read several times over, and could become a favorite book or something. Last year I stumbled on The Feast of the Seven Fishes, so that was last year gift. And since so many people loved it, I'm giving them out this year as well-not to the same people of course. Here's a link to their site, check them out.

If you know who the person is and i presume you do? (not sure about this secret santa thing as i dont go to work) then get something you think they will like.
Neutral suggestions are: A Christmas pudding, a bottle of something, Christmassy chocs, candles, body lotion, a Christmassy mug.

Depending on the budget set, man or woman.
Something funny, but, tasteful. (I knew a guy gave a woman a vibrator one time for a gag gift, I not sure it was taken as funny; Big 12 incher).
Man; Good Scotch Whiskey, Honing Stone for pocket knife, Favorite cigars/pipe tobacco, (I not feel a guy should give a guy Cologne), Cool Fishing Lure or something for Hunting.
Woman; Nice Wine, Cookbook (This can big Real or as a Gag Gift), Perfume, Some Makeup she like (Usually for on the run, something she keep with her), Jewelry, ear-rings are pretty and cheap (DO NOT give a ring, bad "Mojo" there; Ha!).
Good Luck!

We've got someone at work who gives us all gifts at Christmas, they are only free gifts his son gets from medical reps but they're normally quite nice. I brought him a USB phone charger from Tesco, charges multiple phones from a PC or Laptop's USB port. It cost £3 and that was 3 years ago, lost count of the number of times it's saved the day for him and our bosses when their phones have flat batteries, it's used daily and is still going!!

Is it for a girl or guy? Or do you not know?
Gifts that work for guys and girls
-gift certificate to the movies
-gift certificate to coffee place like Starbucks or Caribou
-set of gourmet coffee or teas
-a book or gift card to a bookstore
-a really nice ornament
-slippers
-a set of hats/gloves/scarf if you live where it get cold
-box of chocolates (Godiva or other nice kind)
-Walgreens might sell those hotchocolate sets or s'mores sets
-a gift card to a commonly used grocery store in your area. I know I could always use a discount on my grocery bill!!
-homemade variety of christmas cookies
-candle (although prolly better for a girl than guy)
-gift card for gas or car washes
Hope at least one of these ideas helped!!

as said previously - anything you want as it is a secret - I bough a zit remover one year - didn't go down very well, but no-one knew that it was me - ha ha - what I tend to do now is listen out for something silly that everybody in the office does/says then get them something that is relevant to that - but a porno mag/opposing football team mug normally goes down like a lead balloon. JUST USE YOUR IMAGINATION AND HAVE FUN.
