Im only 39, halfway thru Menopause, stay at home mum, but everyday I wake exhausted, drag myself throughout the day, working at home through the domestic chores. I am constantly cross eyed, yawning, and mentally fatigued. Im at my wits end, getting annoyed at feeling like crap. Help me to try to recover, Itake pro plus, drink coffee and water, what else can I do.

Perhaps you will be able to determine the basis for your fatique [tiredness]...mine was caused by hypothyroid imbalance. [1st site]. A thyroid test is a blood test administered by a physician and the results are provided on a laboratory report. I have much more energy after being prescribed the small tablet to regulate the imbalance.
Another suggestion is to try theraputic walking. Walking regularly for extended lengths of time will generally improve one's overall well being, provide increased energy levels and promotes general good health. It is hard to summon up the energy to begin with and somewhat difficult to 'stick to' a regimine; however, the results are worth it. Even 10 minutes per day ...several times per day will be a good start. Working toward 2 miles per day is the goal. Ideally, one who is able to complete a mile in 18 seconds or less is in good physical condition.
Cheer up...think happy thoughts...delegate responsibilites...and enjoy life awhile.

I presume you're getting your eight hours solid sleep? It sounds nuts and you probably feel like you don't have the energy, but if you go for a twenty minute exercise every day - run/walk/swim/whatever takes your fancy - your energy levels will increase. Also think about getting food intolerance testing done, this can be a really good way to discover habits that you need to break. Drink at least two litres of water every day and even have a cat nap in the afternoon if it helps to manage your day better. Maybe stop drinking coffee? It can make energy levels crash after the caffeine rush has passed.... think about maybe trying some ginseng tea or other herbal remedies. A great way to find out exactly what could be causing your problems is to go to a kinesiologist. Kinesiologists use the electrical circuits of the body to figure out what is causing any muscular, skeletal, emotional, spiritual or structural problems within the body. It sounds completely hippy dippy I know, but I went to a kinesiologist and could not believe the difference it made to my life. I hope something works!

Two things spring to mind after reading above.
1. Get tested for anaemia as this can cause terrible tiredness and a course of iron tablets will put you right back on track. Don't buy over the counter iron though as it is possible to take too much iron, so get tested first.
2. Stress plays a big part in tiredness. And staying at home as a mum is stressful even if you are happy to be at home. The mundane chores that comes day after day....same old thing.
If this is the case you need to take time for you. If your children are young and at home, try to get out at least once a day, maybe meet up with someone else in the same position as you. If your children are older, take time still to get out and do something for you each day. It is NOT being selfish, it is essential to your mental health. You will find that as the stress decreases you will develop more up and go.
Best wishes, hope this helps.

Eat a lot of whole grains. They are complex carbohydrates that will give you natural energy throughout the day. Since I have been eating those I have been able to stop drinking sodas. I haven't kicked the coffee habit, either. But, I plan to when some of my stressful deadlines are over. Look at the website below. They have a ton of articles with great information about realistic diet and exercise options.

you sound like you may have have an under active thyroid which would possibly contribute to your tiredness and feeling sluggish, and as your body is going through the menopause your temperature will be up and down too..i dont reccommend drinking lots of coffee as its only a short term energy burst but lots of water is great if you are perspiring alot with flushing. go to your doctors are have it checked out, it may just be that you are over doing it and need a "me time" to look after yourself for an hour a day without the kids. hope this helps xx

Cut the coffee intake in half. Its not good during menopause. Just take a berrocca every morning and make sure nothing could be interupting your sleep i.e snoring husband. You will find that you are more sensitive at nights now, night sweats and what not. Caffeine will also screw up your system. Try a herbal tea instead. Also are you taking hormone replacment therapy maybe you should give it a try.

Stress and dissatisfaction with your life sound like part of the problem. Take some time out for yourself, even if it's just a bubble bath or half hour with a good book. Quit the caffeine shots; they will make you feel worse! Try a multivitamin or menopause supplement, they do help.

Are you despressed? this causes exhaustion, are you loosing a lot of blood this too can cause you to be tired, maybe you need an iron supplemental. Ask a friend/relative if they'll have the kids for two days and one night and just go to bed and sleep. leave the housekeeping, it'll be there when youre pushing up daisies - and if your kids are old enough make sure they're doing their share. Are you eating enough fruit and veg?? Go to your doc, you're probably run down

I know how you feel, going through the tiredness etc. I had a sleep study done and that was fine. My doc wants to check my thyroid and iron levels.
Go see your doctor and maybe have that checked also.
Apparently if your thyroid levels are low it can cause the tiredness, forgetfulness, sleepiness and all that other good stuff. And so can low iron levels.
Good Luck!!

Cut out the caffeine completely and start eating more fresh fruit and vegetables. HRT may be an option also, but you will need to speak with your doctor.
