the Iraq war and terrorism ?
I think so .
I've noticed some Democratic Politicians have backed away from their hardline stance on withdrawal, and I think I've noticed less Y/A users taking that stance as well .
Oh, the 'abandon ship' lobby is still out there and very vocal, but it seems to have decreased some .
What do you think ?

I've noticed over the past 20 years of following politics the far lefts' thirst for power knows no bounds. Many of them were privy to this "classified info" prior to the election. They also realize that all presidential administrations consult the top minds in they're fields before making decisions. Our leaders do not sit back and "play chess" so to speak as they did circa 1945. If they were unaware of classified info they realize there are valid reasons for the current administrations decisions. That scared the crap out of them causing them to fear losing even more power. The far left simply played there game of "chess" better because they could see the oppositions predicament of keeping most things classified. If they were in power I can't imagine the amount of American lives that would be lost due to leaks in a leftist administration all in an effort to keep their power. Shame on Palosi, Kerry, Dean, and Kennedy. These tactics are un-American.

No, the Democrats have always been connected to the reality that there is no good solution for this quagmire.
The Republicans were given a "wake up call" on election day.
The reason why it seems shocking to many that Democrats seem reasonable on this is because they believed a caricacture of the Democratic ideas. This "cut and run" garbage was just hyperbole and nonsense. Not that we shouldn't get out, but the idea that they would just drop everything and run for the hills was idiotic.
The Dems haven't changed. The Republicans were hoping you'd buy the rhetoric and would never get to see the reality.

They always knew the reality. FINALLY the administartion has awoken, and rumsfeld 'cut and ran' and BIPARTISNASHIP is being used to come up with a STRATEGY. There is an Iraq study group and Bush's daddy's friends have come back to help him ouit. Man...you guys care nothing about reality and only want to bash the other side. THAT is why I am independent, and THAT is why my votes matter more than the sheep's votes. And I will wait for my 'thumbs down' as I do everytime I answer a question like this, and the asker only wants agreement and not truth. Have a nice day

Now that BUSH got the crap rolling we can`t hardly after promising we would make their lives better (and oh ya we sure did that I wonder how many of them have sent Bush thank you cards ) Just leave them after we came in and (with good intentions ) really FU--ed up there lives.. Maybe so, one day ( a long long time from now after a civil war and many many more innocent people dying including our soldiers) our actions now, will better there lives . But DON`T YOU THINK THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A BETTER WAY(FOR THE CITIZENS OF IRAQ) FOR US TO DO THAT.. You can get a whole lot more out of people by working with them than against them ...Sure enough Suddam needed to be removed from power. but there were better ways of doing that anonymously (& that`s NOT being cowardly)

They used their anti war rhetoric to get elected. Then as soon as they were privy to important war info (they don't sleep in those meetings anymore) they realize we HAVE to win this thing.
They are flip floppers but since this time it is good for the country I won't make a big deal out of it!

Liberal here.
I think we would have been far better off spending the near $300,000,000,000 we have "so far" spent on Iraq here in the US beefing up security, terrorist surveillance, and securing our borders.
Iraq was never a tactical threat to us. Colin Powell was right. You break it, you own it!

Somewhat.
Also, the blind Republican "we'll win you wait and see!" extreme has decreased also.
Both may meet in the middle.
