Call a local church in the phone book, i am sure they will help u out. If u are desperate u will do this. If one church turns u down, call another.
They collect money all the time for the needy.
They will help when the gov. will not...GOOD LUCK!

I think you are going about this all wrong...
1st, why is all your money going to your parents?
There are always plenty of apartment available anywhere you look....check papers, apartments on-line....
You have a low income? Do you both have jobs? If you want more money you will have to work for it. I would get another job and start saving so you can move into a place of your own.
Good luck

Does this pal have a baby? in many situations section 8 or low income housing isn't in position to living house unmarried little ones who've the potential to paintings. even if that in case you qualified, you may want to be so a procedures down on the list in the back of unmarried moms, low income households, elderly human beings and the disabled. do not seem at section 8 with a view to shack up including your boyfriend on the tax payers dime.

i looked up scotia ny for rental prices and found a nice place at $650 , 2 bedroom and one bath.
you can rent out the other bedroom of 1/2 the cost..
get creative..
and get your room mate to sign an agreement..so you can hold them to that price and give you lots of notice .

Contact the housing authority for that area to learn how to apply and the length of the waiting list.
