writing articles, and submitting them to article directories, with a link to your site in the resource box, or just an advertisement for your home business
I blog every day pretty much and drive traffic to that which in turn drives traffic to my site
I also submit my site link to as many SEO friendly link directories as possible (ones with a decent PR and don't require reciprocal links)
all of these are free
