just go for a audio/video convertor software from internet...
u can easily get it bcas allmost all manufactures offers their softwares for a trail period..
within that time you can change those files from dat to wmv or mpg format...

just go ahead..

The best way of viewing ur .dat file in Media player is to rename it to .mpg . This is because .dat and mpg. have same encoding formats and hence after renaming the file you can play it.

Or you can also right click on you .dat file and chose it to "open with" windows media play explicitly.

Or open media playe, from file menu click on open file and browse to you .dat file. It will play.

Try 2 install (Imtoo encoder ) software u can convert 2 any files. for converting one of the best software ..u can convert 2 any Extantion. Take care

just download and install and forget about wmplayer. It plays most files that I throw at it. Also it can broadcast video if you want to but you don`t have to, its the best media player I have come across.

Just right click and choose rename and change '.dat' part of the filename with '.mpg' or something else ,it works
