when it comes to slacker and deadbeat dads and child support i would have to agree. I think a lot of it depends on the judge you have reviewing the case. Depends on the crime too. You play, you pay. However women aren't let off the hook with just a slap on the wrist for things anymore. I think quite a few more women are receiving the 'child support' responsibility part of divorces these days, because the men are trying while the women are being the slackers looking for the easy way out too.

Depends on the circumstances and how good your attorneys are. If there are children involved; the courts will make sure that they are provided for by either or both - and if not; you can and will do jail/prison time for not providing - if they are under the age of 18 and up until they are of the age of 18.
If you still owe back child support even after they have become 18, you will owe it until it is paid in full. Period.
I would not recommend trying hide assets. That is becomming something that the courts will jail you on and can be found out too easily these days. (again with good attorneys)
Severe is a pretty harsh word. But, our courts protect the children fiercely.

Because society as a whole takes pity on females and children. My first divorce my husband was hiding a huge amount of money from the courts claiming he could not pay very much child support when he owned a condo in a fancy club and a savings that I never knew we had. And he didn't want to take care of his sons. You know nice things like that, this is not the rule but the exception.

Beyond child support, which I believe is a requirement of both parents, the courts, in my opinion favor women. This is a holdover from a time when women stayed at home and never found a way to support themselves, so that if a man dissolved the marriage, the woman was likely to be destitute.
Nowadays, most women can support themselves, yet it seems men still end up paying alimony. I've not heard of any women paying alimony.

That's 100% accurate.
Granted, it depends on the State, which Counties within those states, etc.
Want REAL examples? Watch how women on the Internet (even here) ask questions on divorce and see the flood gates of answers pour in by everyone under the sun who take pity on 'their half of the story.'
When I went through divorce in Minnesota (Hennepin County) the rule was 40% of my wages went towards child support. I also was responsible to pay 60% of daycare expenses.
Two new Bill's were on the table to adjust the child support requirements to help equally sort out how much non-custodial parents are obligated to pay, and for four years each of those Bill's were prevented to become a law because certain details were not agreed to.
I don't know how hard it would be to decide whether or not to allow a Bill to pass when it calls for BOTH parents earnings to be evaluated, and for it to be determined how much money would be needed to financially support their children, then subtract the difference and adjust how much the non-custodial parent must pay. All toll it would probably take ten minutes for each case... And it was easier to by-pass the Bill's and set them aside... Bull roar!
Also, it starts out with the immediate separation. Which in many cases, the majority of women go to their local abuse/protection agencies and get assistance beyond what is necessary (in most cases.)
In my case my ex made some seriously false accusasions against me and got a restraining order on her behalf.
I too went to get assistance.
When I was there I saw 35 phone numbers that women can call for assistance and 1 phone number men can call for assistance.
I called every phone number that women can call and NONE of them would assist me because I'm male. I called the 1 for men and left a message. SIX weeks later I got a return phone call.
Women will contend that they need that kind of assistance because men are so mean...
When my ex-wife threatened to have me killed... I don't know the hell anyone wouldn't consider that being mean enough to cause some serious attention by the authorities.
Moving on.... IN COURT... When I held my wife in contempt of court 7 times over the course of 1.5 years... For failing to provide access to my belongings (4 contempt charges on that alone), failure to care for our children (leaving them home alone), failing access for scheduled visitation, etc., each and every time the Female Judge verbally scolded my ex, but not once did she punish her or assess a fine against her.
More bias:
All the men I know who have custody of their children DO NOT receive child support from their ex-wives.
What's odd about that is men get charged roughly 40% of their wages for child support. Women don't make 40% less money than men... But they don't have to pay a dime if their ex-husbands want their kids bad enough.

Oh yeah... lol
As in me calling my local child protection agency four times in a two month period when my wife left our 5, 7 & 9 yr-old girls at home alone for long periods of time...
And me being told they don't have enough financial resources to do anything about it.
Upon telling the Judge, she did nothing to address the issue.
While appalled at my ex-wife's behavior, she told my ex not to leave the children home alone... 1... 2... 3... 4 separate times and not once did the piece of crud judge do anything about it! (Do I need to add that every time a couple faces a Judge, the Judge has previous Motions and claims right there at their fingertips to review... ?) It's a little obvious when someone is held in contempt time and time again for failure to follow the Courts decisions... When there's a blatant pattern of bahavior by either party... Ummm... DUH! lol
To the gabby b*tch (Colleen O) that said men are whiners... If men consolidated our efforts at protecting our children the way most women do (in court and behind the scenes in the dozens of venues where only women can gain support) your a$$es would be turned out like no other.

Really depends on the state. For example, Maine is rather harsh on husbands/fathers.

Not true. It just comes down to who has the most money, and the best lawyer.
Merry Christmas.

No it is not true. It is no more strict on men than it is on women. It's just that some men tend to be whiners.
