You have not mentione dthe model. As price is going down thus HP is keeping on changing model no and with some features keeps on pushing the price rather than retaining old model. So what i suggest that you have a look at available one and figure out your needs and just get it. If buying for self then better consider Toshiba at a slight premium price. For cheaper alternate can also try Dell apart from HP.

Ok regarding the computers it is the King. What HP mainly does is it gives the multi-media regerding hardware and software. It releases the product before others releases it. Pavilion stands at the top of the hp all models. My one is the hp Pavilion desktop. Now hp is offering Microsoft Vista for their laptops. It also gives two DVD's one for 32-bit and 64- bit processor. I used the vista and tasted it excellence performance. At first it looks to be hard and boring once attracted it is user friendly. But one thing hp for performance and sony vaio for High Definition. So it's ur choise.
