Crete. It's located at the south part of Greece, between Greece and Africa.
Very beautiful as well. Population about 1.000.000, fantastic beaches and landscapes, excellent food. Recommended.

While not the biggest of them all, Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands to the east of the mainland. Far nicer to visit.

Wonderful Crete by a long way. Long and narrow and there are places on mountain tops where you can see the sea either side.
