Obvious choice, but I'm gonna go with sight. I could look at my beautiful baby girl all day.

For me it's a tough choice between sight or hearing. I hear badly and don't see too well either as it is, so if I had to lose one of those senses completely it would be hard because I can't rely too much on the remaining one.

A person who lost both her sight and her hearing in her lifetime once said "When I lost my sight I lost contact with things. When I lost my hearing I lost contact with people." In a way that's true. We rely more on our hearing when communicating but more on our sight when doing things with our hands.

In a way I think I'd handle blindness better than deafness. I think I value my hearing slightly more.

Spontaneously I would say sight, but, dear, what is like life without words and music?
Even the cries of your baby?
And what about being mute?
Mute autistics go through hell because they have other dysfunctions...
When my grand mother got old and older, she could taste nothing anymore, except a kind of ash taste.
The lepers lost their skin sensibility and that does also seem terrible...
But I know for sure many people have not a big sense of smell and they seem to go on quite normally with their life...
So, that the kind of answer you got from a nurse, sorry....

Hearing, closely followed by sight.

I'd have to go with sight also. It seems like losing all of the others would be easier to deal with.

Touch. I'd be able to get along fine without any of the others, but touch would mean I couldn't feel anything and would be much more likely to injure myself.
