3-All other things being equal I would choose the set of beliefs I found most aesthetic and appealing to my sense of beauty.

What you believe may change so beliefs are only a placeholder for the personal self-realization of the true eternal God. There is only one truth but there are many paths. Initially you should pick the path with which you identify. Once you have invited God into your mind, spirit and soul God will light the path that is uniquely your own. The role of the Holy Spirit as our teacher is described in John 14 "And I will ask the Father, and he will send to you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth, which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees it not knows it. But you will know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you." The discussions that you will have with the Holy Spirit will clarify all things to you and light the path to wisdom.
