he is taking it to quit smoking. He has cut down on his smoking but he has turned into a dick. I have brought this to his attention but he just dismisses it and says that its not having that affect on him.

Wellbutrin is an anti depressant prescribed generally for depression. It looks like it does affect his mood. Even though it should relax him and be always on an even keel, it might be the wrong thing for him to take because he's not taking it for depression and it could have an adverse effect on his brain and therefore cause his mood swings. He should go back to the doctor and maybe get the patch. Who knows how will it affect his brain in the long run.

People have varying reactions to quitting smoking AND to drugs like Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin is used not only to aid in quitting smoking, but for depression. It could have the "moodiness" effect on him, but so can the withdrawal from the nicotine. He should really talk to his doctor.

Of course he's a dick, did you think this transition would be easy? Give him TIME, all the time he needs to get out of this crazy addiction.

I've often said, I would quit only if they locked me up somewhere for a few weeks!

Give the poor guy a chance! You complained about him smoking, now walk down the path with him to recovery! Chill!!

To get an informed, professional opinion, which you will NOT get on this site, consult with your doctor or the local pharmacist. They know.
