For winter time, don't use water as hot. Hot water dries out the skin. And use a thick moisturizing soap. Also, use a humidifier. It helps to moisturize the skin. Especially using it during the night helps. And use a lotion or moisturizer that is more of an emollient (thicker & heavier than lotion). Lotion lets the skin "breathe" more causing the moisture to escape as well.

One thing you c an do is exfoliate twice a week. You can get these gloves called exfoliating gloves at almost any department store. Use them in the shower all over your body. When youget out, try the Dove Nourishing Day or Night Lotion. I love them both and that's what I do for my dry skin.

*Avoid hot water, it strips away skins natural oils

*Exfoliate to remove dead skin cell twice a week then apply moisturizer.

Exfoliating Yogurt Mask (gentle to skin)
Apply yogurt that is still in date to your skin, leave on 10 minutes then rinse with warm water. The live enzymes (cultures) in the yogurt will eat away the dry skin cells. Your face will be soft and refreshed after-wards. No lie this really works!

*After bathing, while skin is still slightly damp, apply moisturizer (baby oil is great)!

*Solid crisco shortening is a wonderful moisturizer for your body. It is pure vegetable oil with out any additives of fragrence, color etc. Rub a small amount between your palms then massage onto body. This seriously works!

*Dry feet, apply crisco or vaseline to feet and cover with a plastic bag then a pair of socks. Your body heat will work with the oil to moisturize feet. I apply the oil and sleep in socks to let it work overnight.

*Use bath soaps that have glycerine and vitamin E, they are humectants.

*Vitamin E is a natural healer for dry iritated skin. Buy oil or vitamin capsules and pierce with a pin to remove oil. This is wonderful for dry cuticles and skin.

*Soak in a warm bath with powdered milk, or oatmeal, you can also add a small amount of babyoil to bath water. Be careful getting out as you can slip.

Use a humidifier in your home. Also, after showering or bathing, apply creamy baby oil while you're still wet and let it air dry. Then apply a good brand of lotion/moisturizer. Do this each day and you will see results!
