First find out what you like to do. Not everyone is cut out to be a doctor and some could never lie to be a lawyer. You may show a inclination towards more than that you do towards English or towards a more pure science. Every job has prerequisites, be it science, math or english, or you might find that you do not like being in an office all day, or maybe your skill is helping people. You never should choose an occupation based solely on what is popular, because you eventually find it to be boring and you suffer from depression and disillusionment if you are not happy in your job. While it true that not everyone gets the job of their dreams, you should aim to it, even if you miss, you may get a job in a similar field.
This should be your aim. Research jobs and speak with people in those professions, get to know what required, and what it is like. Your professional guidance officer might be able to help. That said, you might want to work on your english in school.

There are so many jobs out there it is hard to decide when you are young what you would like to do. In my opinion I would advise you to have a think about teh kind of job you would be happy in. Personally I always knew I wanted a job helping peope. Some people want to work with animals, some people like working in offices, some outdoors. Think about things you like and are good at. You are most likely to do well in something you enjoy.
For a better idea of what jobs would suit you sign up here and do a questionaire about jobs that match your skills.

If money makes the world go round then IT is the engine. Its all about computers these days and will be around long into the future. May not be the most enternaing career choice but if you have some sort of qualification in IT then at least you would never be out of work. x

You need to look at what you're good at and what you're interested in, The better your qualifications, the more options you will have, but a VERY handy additional asset to have is good people skills, being able to talk to people, engaging in conversations and being able to express yourself. I've seen a lot of people who had fantastic academic skills but their lack of people skills stopped them from getting a job! Good luck.

Just remember that whatever you choose you don't have to do it for the rest of your life. I know one guy who studied engineering at university, became a chartered accountant after graduation and is now an airline pilot.
Don't worry if you can't think of a career now, you'll think of it eventually.
