Every generation has different taste. The stuff we listened to sounded like crap to people older than us. There are lots of great groups out right now, though. I love Electric 6 and the Scissor Sisters, and there are others, too. Pop music, whatever the decade, appeals most to teens. It does make you feel old, though. Interesting question!

Hey, I totally agree with you! I don't like most of the music people play these days. And I'm only about 15. You're not getting older (well, technically you are, but you know what I mean) you just have been raised with different stuff, so you like different stuff than what's popular. My advice? Try listening to more "modern" radio and find a song that you do like, if it helps you feel more "in with it".

a little of both - there was silly stuff around back then too but
technology is making to too easy for people that have no music talent
its like a producer can push like 5 buttons on a comptur program and have a new album and just need a pretty girl that doesnt even now how sing and remix and over dubb the song and make it sound like she can sing
a real musician is becoming obsolete

lol...I feel the same way. I'm 41 and it seems that some of the music these days is crazy. Wait until you're my age. I actually heard Lynnard Skynnart on the golden oldies station the other day. Man, do I feel old.

I know how you feel. It was like that for us "rock n rollers" in the 80s. Out of the entire decade. only about 10 rock/heavy metal band came out.
And the old rock n rollers were trying to go "new wave" and putting out **** like "We Built This City on Rock n Roll" (Jefferson starship). Which I would like to nominate as the worse song of the frickin decade, thank you.
The last band my son turned me on to that I liked was was Linkin Park. It's been a while.

I agree. I avoid the top-40 stations because the music so to bad, and I avoid the alternative stations because the music gives me a headache. I just listen to my uncle's classic rock station and I loaded all kinds of cool stuff from his library on my ipod.
