Travel time between Salem and Vriddhachalam is 3 to 4 hours by train/bus. The bus route is Salem-Athur-Kallakurichi- Ulundurpet-Vriddhachalam. Salem-Cuddalore buses will go via Vriddhachalam. If u catch Salem-Chennai/Vilupuram bus, then u have to get down at Ulundurpet and catch a town bus from Ulundurpet to Vriddhachalam. Travel time between Vriddhachalam and Ulundurpet is 30 minutes. Vriddhachalam is in Cuddalore Dist.

There is no need to go to Ulundurpet. There is direct railway line & road route to, upto Virudachalam. It is in Cuddalore District. From Salem you need to cross Virudachalam to go to Ulundurpet. Route is Salem- Attur- Talaivasal-Veppur- Virudachlam. Must take 5 hrs. Train & bus timings seek Railway station & bus stand assistance. There should be direct bus.
