I would talk to your doctor and find out if it was OK to take more than 2 Ibuprofen.

In hospitals, we give dosages adding up to about 3 or 4 and spread out the number of hours (6-8 hours).

I don't want to recommend that you do this though until you speak to your physician. I don't know if you have any health issues that would contraindicate taking more than the over the counter dose.

I have very bad menstrual cramps too and my ob/gyn suggested I start taking an anti-inflammatory not only during the cramps but before they start. If you cycle is regular you should have an idea of when the cramps will start and start taking it a few days before. Of course you should contact your ob/gyn and see what they recommend and also rule out that there are not other problems such as endometriosis. Your ob/gyn might also recommend putting you on the birth control pill as it will regulate your cycle (if it's irregular) and should greatly decrease your menstrual cramps.

You can also use a heating pad or a hot bath to ease the cramps that you are having without going to your doctor. If that doesn't help than it would probably be best to go to your doctor to make sure that there is nothing to cause your cramps besides just menstrating, then he might suggest putting you on birth control or another medicine to control your cramps

Menstraul cramping is common. It would depend on your age, and whether or not this is somthing new for you. If this is something new for you, please go see a OB-GYN.

If this is something that has been troublesome for you since you started your menses then I would suggest taking a Motrin several days before you are due to start your menses. Lay off the caffeine for a few day before, drink plenty of fluids and try to rest
Hope this helps.

Find an NSAID that works for you. Like ibuprofen or etodolac(this one works for me). Take it ever 4-6 hours before the cramps get bad.
Make sure you eat......avoid salt and a few other things that you'll have to research.
Sometimes you just have to tough them out. :(
