Mideast Allies near a state of panic
U.S. leaders' visits to the region reap only warnings and worry.
By Paul Richter
December 3, 2006
WASHINGTON — President Bush and his top advisors fanned out across the troubled Middle East over the last week to showcase their diplomatic initiatives to restore strained relationships with traditional allies and forge new ones with leaders in Iraq.

But instead of flaunting stronger ties and steadfast American influence, the president's journey found friends both old and new near a state of panic. Mideast leaders expressed soaring concern over upheavals across the region that the United States helped ignite through its invasion of Iraq and push for democracy — and fear that the Bush administration may make things worse.

The only regional leader to voice unqualified support for the Bush administration has been Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who has gone so far as to say that the Iraq invasion contributed to regional stability.

If the truth be known, the USA never had any support for its foreign imperial adventures, it used its political pressure to coerce weak politicians around the world (including the UN) to reluctantly sign up to its policy or they would lose grants and aid.
As the truth comes out as it always does the USA will be pilloried by the world.
The end of the evil empire is at hand.

This administration is no longer credible. The allies in the middle-east, dictatorships except Israel, fear that they will be other thrown. And no one wants that, because if allowed to vote democratically you'd get a lot of fundamentalist governments.

I'm sure we have lost some support. Hell, what do you expect when a countries own citizens turn their back on the government. It isn't exactly a confidence builder.

The insurgents and countries like Iran and Syria are loving this.

The US has lost support everywhere.

Even the Israelis must regret having such incompetent allies.
