I hope she gets caught. It's scum like her stealing from shops that make the prices higher for the rest of us to cover their losses. If you had a decent bone in your body you would report her to the police and teach the idiot a lesson

I would of thought they would have got her there and then if the CCTV was watching her. She's probably got away with it but hopefully she's feeling really guilty! If she's been recorded by CCTV how will the shop know where she lives? Unless of course it's shown on Crimewatch or the shop takes shoplifting really seriously and informs the Police. However, what can she do now - try and smuggle it back? What she's done is wrong.

That's the idea of the CCTV cameras!! She'll probably be on the Crimewatch TV programme next week.
The answer to her 'very much worried' issue is not to steal things in the first place... a criminal record is such a damn nuisance to have since it can stop you travelling to certain countries, prevent your getting certain types of jobs and so on. So it's not worth shoplifting. And we all pay for that particular crime because stores put up prices to compensate for their losses. If she wants to salve her conscience and feel better, she might think of a way to return the bag.....

She may be even more bothered when crime stoppers show her face on tv or the shop can sometimes display images of shoplifters caught on the cctv, tell her to stay away from that shop.

She should be worried because what she did was wrong. She needs to learn to get the things she wants the way the rest of us do...work hard & save your money to get what you want. There are cameras everywhere now so shoplifting any thing, any where, at any time can get you put in jail.I hope she is scared enough to have learned a lesson.

She should be worried, that is against the law. It also doesn't sound very successfull to me is she is worried. Really do you think it is worth so much they would go to all the trouble to trace her steps to her door? Are there cameras to her door? If not then I don't know how they could follow her. Anyway, she has a conscience that is why she is worried...which is good.

Thye probably wont be able to tell now until they do a stock check and they are very unlikely to go back and check all CCTV images from every day that month. She wont be caught now but tell her not to do it again

thieving little ***** is pushing up prices!! she should take it back and say it was an accident, i used to work in retail and yes she will get busted for being on CCTV. her face will get circulated via email to all stores and when shes spotted stores will radio to one another. if she wants to clear her name she needs to do the right thing and stop being so selfish. i dont have a lot of money but dont feel the need to steal, so why should she. you need to be the decent friend and tell her how disappointed you are!

If she is so scared of being caught now why did the stupid thick b*tch do it in the first place?
Is she scared that she has breached her bail, licence or ASBO conditions and therefore will be sent to jail? GOOD!!!
Whether she gets caught or not, you need to report the thieving pond life to the police, her probation officer or Crime Stoppers.
At the of the day it people like me, those that go to work, who will ultimately pay for her crime by way of higher prices!!!

You should update us and let us know what happens.
If they catch her on CCTV, they will actually have to see her stealing the item before they can prosecute, otherwise there is no proof that she stole it. I doubt that they will send police to her house for a petty theft, but the minute she steps back in the store they will be WATCHING her like a hawk. She may have to avoid that store, if it's in a shopping mall they all tell one another and look out for one another.
