I know in all my research I've never found a source online, but I did once long ago find an old shop in a small town.
The proprietor was elderly and understood such things.
He began pointing to jars and cans, boxes and bags all labeled.
One had a tag on it that said, "I'll keep an EYE OUT for ya"
Another said, "Tongue in Cheek" a scarey one said "Cure for shooting yerself in the foot"
He asked if I was sure it was my elbow that was the problem, even joking about that it might be a knee? I checked, and while doing so he said, "I meant yer low knee not yet hi ney."
He spent hours explaining all the oddities of sayings, and eventually neither of us could actually find any elbow grease, but he certainly used a lot of it that day.

The DIY shop near me sells, elbow grease, also you can buy glass hammers, left handed screw drivers and long stands - there is always a long que for the long stands.

Elbow grease can't be bought,but you can pay someone else to spend his/her elbow grease on your project,but then you'll have defeat the whole purpose of "do it yourself ".
