FOR THE TIME WE ARE NOT GETTING GOOD PLAYER AND YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT CAPTAIN. FIRST LET HIM PROVE THAT HE IS GOOD BATSMAN.

definitely!! If you look at dravid, he is a good batsman - a very good one indeed - but a rotten captain. Ganguly even in his present form is an OK batsman (no worse than the Raina's and Moniga's) and a brilliant captain. Whoever says he was a partial captain should have a look at the past media reports from 2000 to 2005 and revise opinion. He was India's first impartial captain!! He is the best captain material we have in Indian cricket right now.
No matter what Chappel might say!

The question is very appropriate and the answer lies there. Yes presently Sourav is a BETTER captain candidate. Managing this team is a skill and legend like Sachin failed and then Dravid hardly managed a century in last 15 innings. In ODI his 10K runs with forming a new winning team and overseas winning with strong body language talks about his determination. Any other than him would have taken retirement and would have outburst but it is again his patience which kept him going. All these forms him a suitable element for captain. Yes he need to be a better performer too.

At this level Ganguly cant even became candidate for that post. but he is one of the finest captain india had once...
Now he should perform well and get his place in a team.
but
just wait and see.Now Rahul need some time to show his captaincy powers, he scored runs being captain unlike ganguly..
if after some days rahul captaincy works means, that is, if india could able to win many matches under his captaincy, he could be finest captain equally to sourav...

Yes. The capatin need not necessarily be the best player of his side. He should have leadership qualities which Ganguly certainly possesses. In modern day cricket he is the best captain candidate for India.

The main fault with Ganguly,Dravid or any other INdian captain is that they keep persisting with players who are out of form and also show partiality in selecting certain players.
apart from managing the team properly , a good captain must show that only those who perform will stay in the team.

So far as managing skills go, Ganguli has proved himself as a far better captain for the Indian team. Even when he was not scoring runs, he still looked in control of the team. However, now its too late for him to be considered for captaincy. He will first need to re-establish himself in the team.

Dada is a far better captain than Dravid.In 2003 world cup we have reached the final, but now the position is different .With Dravid as the captain we may not reach even semifinals.

i think he had been a good captain before, by winning most tests than any other captains in Indian cricket history. the twist came on after te appointment of Greg chappel. We all know he is a grt player and i think he should be given a chance weather as a player or as a captain.

He was the best captain of Indian Cricket Team. It is a past history. Presently his place in the Indian Team is not at all sure and as such why to talk about captaincy at this stage.
