hey guys, I have a pretty good life but for a couple months now (since the summer ended) I seem to just get sadder and more miserable. I have a lot of good friends but when I'm alone I am sad. What can be causing this? I am starting to worry.

It could possibly be lack of a certain vitamin, I also think it might have to do with drinking energy drinks. Idk, but all off a sudden waking up for school became to much because I couldn't deal with waking up and knowing I have to go to school. Now I have some how gotten on this horrible sleeping pattern where I sleep right after school, wake up around 10 p.m. stay up from the till the end of the school say the next day. School doesn't even bug me, I kinda like it actually which makes this so weird.

I would reccomend getting exercise, drinking plenty of water, and if you are not able to get into the sun very much, your body will not be getting vitamin D, so drink plenty of milk and other vitamin D products. If it is not physical, then there is a psychological reason, but it sounds like it probably isn't. Yet, when the physical fails, try meditating deeply on trying to find what seems to be troubling you and figure out why. Once you can figure out why and understand the cause for suffering you can figure out why the things are that way, and with logic, you will see that the way things are is just how they are, and feeling bad about it is simply illogical.

Challenge your depression with the following questions: Do I feel this way because of what is? Have I applied an absolute to a situation thought percepiton or event? ie:that SHOULD not have happened or that Must not happen or I will be miserable. Far from being light reading you might try a book by Albert Ellis called The Guide to Rational Living this is full of real techniques and tools for challenging depression and is also good at helping to understand why you have ended up in a funk.

Based on my experience, I think it's something you should consult a doctor specialized in depressive disorders, you take his/her advice as well as possible medication. It'd be all right but it will take time, many people can live and work with less depression. Take care, get some regular exercises at least half and hour per day, at least 4 days a week. It will strengthen you bodily & mentally, you can get regular sleep.
From some medical journals on the matter, you may search to read some related articles via Google.com. Some affirm it's related to the chemistry balance in the brain.
Good luck.

You , and you, will know the reason for this depression. Others can only make some guess. The very nature of the onset of a depression is our inability to pinpoint a cause. By vainly attempting to narrow down to a cause we get deeper and deeper into it.

Whatever , do not , please donot get onto any medicines that will make you dependent on that in due course. certain flower medicines seem to help. Look up BACH FLOWER MEDICINE on the web. certain flower essences seem to handle this safely. It costs nothing and it is safe.

This is not umcommon to have such mild "feeling Low" Donot give any big names like Depression. Some say meditation helps. Donot worry.

My dear

I feel for you worries, we all face into difficult and sad stages of our life that we must deal with.

From my experience and from observing the experience of other people....this kind of sadness that there is no specific reason..... this situation occurs when we haven't found what is the most meaningful goal in our life. all the people are born for a specific reason, not just to live, consume the products of this world and die...

Every single human beeing has born with his or her "mission" to fulfil in this lifetime. It is quite common, when we haven't discovered yet what it the ultimate goal tha we are born to feel depressed. Because all the other activities we are engaged in are meanigless, no matter how pleasant they are, if you are not fulfiling the purpose of your living....

I hope I didn't confuse you...

I know how it feels.... and once I discovered my "mission" I never felt again this kind of sadness....

I wish you lots of joy and happiness and if you feel you need to talk more about this....just ask

Hey the same thing happened to me. I cried every night and was so lonely all of a sudden.

For me healing helped (tarot). Get lots of good rest and drink lots of water and eat good food and get exercise. They help!

Don't keep on thinking about your sadness. Try talking to a close friend if you have one.

Take care!

I am no expert in these matters. Yet, let me say a few words based on my personal experience.

Depression is the result of an absence of challenge. Routine life without any longer term purpose can cause depression. Our ego does not like us to be in a perfectly comfortable zone..... it eggs us on to take up bigger aims and strive and struggle so that it can get the thrill of the pride of achievement.

If you are at a crossroads in your life and not gathering to choose and proceed on one of the alternatives, you get the combination of worry and depression. Right or wrong, we must make a choice in good time and proceed...... no road is closed for ever... that is the beauty of life...... branching off is never ruled out.... it just calls for a courage and enterprise..... courage to face the consequences and enterprise to fight them if they were to turn unfavourable. Absence of courage and enterprise is the key cause for depression.
