No, I am pretty shy, but online, I am not. You are able to think about what you want to say without looking or feeling like a complete idiot.

The reactions of the speaker and the listener are not known and one would always have a feel that the other likes his communications. If it happens in person, your personality, the presentation styles, body language everything matters. But in online - nothing will stop you.

When Online you feel free, specialy Guys looking for One night stand; it's easy for them to talk and once in from of you they see that it's no as easy getting you in bed as talking on the chat.
It's just like an engine that suddently goes down, they finally see a real woman in front of them trying to know who they are, what the do, etc. He is just thinking on how he is going to get you home; that's why they are quiets.
For girls, either their are tired, bored or not feeling fine.

That's not odd at all. Online you can remain anonymous. You can also think about things you say before you say them and so that can help you feel more comfortable about communicating.

Very normal, infact thats my nature. The pen is mightier than the tongue. (just joking).
Realy when you write online, you are free, you say things without minding if someone is listening, you speak without fear, without shame, sometimes you say the truths you wouldn't have been able to say if you were speaking or someone may cut you short....

you feel safer and more secure online that's why you don't hold back that much, unike when you are face to face with the person

not at all.. back in college, my wife and I used to talk online but then when we met in person, we were pretty quiet.. we were both kind of shy..

If you stay in front of the computer more often than you see real people, then it wouldn't be so weird. Seeing as you say you're shy though tells me that YOU NEED TO GET OUT MORE.
