I have a 15hh 4-year-old black-brown cob (gelding) with a star and a white nose, and I don't know what to name him. I don't want anything like "Bubbles" or "Fluffy", I want a good name.

I want a Latin name, Spanish or Portuguese, because I think they sound nice. We already have 2 horses called Pedro and Diego, and another Latin name would be nice. I was thinking of "Joao", which is Portuguese for John!

What about:
Dimas - Portuguese meaning "sunset"
Adan - the Spanish form of Adam meaning "earth"
Armando - Italian meaning "bold/hardy"
Maximo - Latin meaning "greatest"
Just a few suggestions. Good luck!

Siesta could be nice if he's laidback...Carlos if he's big and strong or manwell if he's a bit quirky!
You could call him something in english then translate into spanish and see what you get.. not sure i know enough spanish but you could look in a translation books.. take your time..a good name will stay with him for life! Also remember that he probably knows whatever name he came to you with so it would be nice to make his new one similar so he will come to your call easily

It's bad luck to change a horse's name. Can you improvise on his original name? Like, if it's something like 'Lightning' that would make me think he's fast & strong, you could call him Rapido or Forte...
Goofy, I know, but you get my drift.

may i ask what was his name before, what does he come to?
you may want to choose a name that sounds like it and then make your own name so he already has something familiar. i did that with mine.
like rebel sounds like pebble, i think maybe you already have an idea of what you are looking for, good luck with it.
