Based on Forbes 2005 list of the World's Richest it lists Bill Gates as the richest and Warren Buffett as second richest. Since Warren pledged the bulk of his billions to the Gates Foundation this year, I would have to assume little has changed for 2006. Yep Bill Gates will still be the world's richest person.
Add- It is not the Sultan of Brunei, Bill Gates beat him out a few years back when a series of hardships cut the Sultan's worth in half. Besides after the Buffett deal, Gates will still be the richest.

I guess some of us are not working hard enough, as the person who was the richest l;ast year still is today..so people lets use this as motivation and better our tomorrow.
Work hard today to reap better fruits tomorrow :D
