First of all, people have been saying its the end of the world ever since Nero was throwing Christians to the lions. Every end of the Century, end of the millenia, we've had the dire predictions. How many cult leaders have taken their flocks to commit suicide predicting the end was near...too many to count i bet.

The current middle east war is another example. At any given time in history, there are numerous wars and conflicts going on. Currently there are 40+/- conflicts in the world. The only time the WORLD WAR status is attibuted to a war is when the superpowers square off on opposite sides in open declarations of war. We are far from that scenario, altho i agree the spark is there to ignite a larger conflagaration. But for now, just think regional conflicts, proxy wars, brinksmanship, sabre rattling and disagreements between rump states.

When the US, Russia and/or China square, then come back and we'll talk WW III. The history books haven't declared the Cold War as WWIII or the current war on terror as WWIV. You'll know when WWIII hits, that burst of EMP will be your first warning....

As Einstein is often quoted as saying, WWIV will be fought with sticks and stones....

The most likely end of the world scenario will be the following (ranked in order of probability):

1. Accidental launch by Russian ICBMs who mistakingly thought NATO or the US launched against them, due to the aging early warning systems(we've had 20 near misses in the last three decades).

2. Unmapped Planet Killing Asteroid; thousands have been mapped, including Apophis to near miss in 2036 and 1950DA to impact in 877 years with a probability of 1/300. The scary ones are the unmapped ones coming from behind the sun in the orbit, that'll give 2 years advance warning, little time for an interdiction plan.

3. SuperVolcanic eruption, most likely out of Yellowstone,...it's overdue. That would trigger a nuclear winter scenario.

4. Global Warming and Worldwide Pandemics are slow deaths but could reach catastrophic porportions.

Depends on everyone's opinion:
Some religious freaks say the end of the world is coming closer and closer, that Armageddon is near to us now and we all have to confess and purge our sins before it's too late.
Some people say you really really cannot predict when or how the end of the world will come at all, cuz only God knows when and how.
Some people really don't believe this and don't care at all with that absurdity, they just live by the moment and enjoy every single second of their lives and do their best while they still have a chance to live their lives in this world...
So?

Didn't the bible say that jesus was suppose to come again before the end of the world and that people would try to convince you that it is the end of the world but you shouldn't listen to them you should listen to when he says it's the end of the world or something like that. Why do you even think that it's the end of the world anyway?

only if you want it to be. the end and the beginning are the same, really. i think the concept of "the end of the world" is subjective and must personally be experienced. it's more metaphor than fact and more micro than macro. it's an internal event, not a wide sweeping catastrophic event/s.

no worries. be the best person that you can be and you will radiate infinite.

No, as one world ends another begins, ask the Forteans,
about this and you will see, there is always something else
out there, and when the world ends then we move onto a
much better place anyway.......................................................

Moving to another Planet will be a reality one day, but, that is
rather far into the future to think about, live in the moment,
and the world will be yours and will not end in the way you
think.................................................................................................

We are pooping in our mess kit by the minute via global warming and the buildup of atmospheric toxins, contaminated food chain and water. I think we will end with a whimper, not with a bang. BUT... I think we have another couple of hundred years before things meltdown and culture goes Road Warrior and then silent.

Ever since humans replaced the animal domination in this world, it is humans who will end this world.

The world will go on. It will eventually be uninhabitable for human beings.. As long as babies keep being born, life will go on on Earth until we destroy our planet, thereby ending our race of life forms on the earth.

I'd plan to be here for the long haul. Get a good education and put aside some money for retirement. Good luck.

It is not the end of the world.
It is the end of the world as we know it.
The "world" as we know it will change.
