My great great great parents immigrated to Turkey from Syria when Syria was a part of the Ottoman Empire. Since then, my ancestors have lived in Turkey. So, I'm a Turk with Syrian roots.

I am American so you know what that means.... I am a little of everything. On my mother side I am Scottish, English, Irish, and American Indian. My maternal grandfather played up our Irish side, which I became the favorite as I am the only one with red hair and fair skin. My maternal grandmother played up our Scottish side and we have our coat-of-arms from them. My great-grandmother from (my grandfather mother) came here directly from England and used to tell us stories. The only thing I know about the American Indian is that we are Cherokee.
On my father's side I have always said I was part hillbilly well because they are. :-) They are also Irish and English and that is the only thing they will say.
To make matters even more complicated, my son is all of this PLUS from his father ... half Irish and half Mexican.

I am an American. My ancestors came here in 1632.
It seems that people in this country are afraid to say that they are American and have to be from another country even though they were born here.

That's a difficult question in here, as ethnicities have been mixing for thousands of years. So, I say I've come from the ocean.

My father's ancestors were from Egypt, but my great great grand mother from my mother's side's Egyptian.
This is why when people see me they think that I am Egyptian.
