The National Archives is the best place to start (see Link 1)

Please remember that a lot of the WW1 archives were destroyed in WW2, but you might get lucky. The National Archives will only give you the very first start with (typically) military medal cards, but this will lead you deeper and you'll find links to other sites the deeper you go.

If you are American, the situation is a little better. The second link gives you draft records for WW1.

go on web site called ancestry.co.uk, they have everything from birth,death,marriage,immigration and war records. it helped me
