First time someone lies to me if they apologize (must be sincere) I may be able to forgive them, it depends on the extent of the lie, but the second time? Why would I want to put myself through the hassle of always having to wonder when they were going to lie to me again, or even if anything they had said was true at all.

Yikes, depends on the lies.

If the lie involves cheating, then once.

If the lie is about where you're going or who you are going with, then maybe a couple of times. Of course, I would question myself at that point and wonder if I was being controlling if the person felt they had to lie...

If it is a white lie to not hurt my feelings...well, those aren't exactly right but they are forgivable.

usually one time
but I usually give them a chance..so I guess you have to say two times
the first time
then the chance to be good, then the second lie and it is all over, can not be trusted ever again and most likely not in my friendship or anything else to do with me

smile
good luck

Two chances only is my rule. If you lie and apologize I will give you a second chance (usually, but not always, depending on how big the lie is). But if you lie again, it is finished.

I usually say that after the first lie

Three strikes and their outta here. One exception is that if the first strike includes secretly seeing his ex behind your back or sleeping with your best friend then sorry that atkes up all three. So he's outta here and kicked to the curb.

Twice. I believe in second chances, but once a pattern develops I would call it quits.

It depends on the person who is lying to you and what your relationship to them is. If they are your boss or your family you may let them continue to lie to you indefinitely. Otherwise you may cut them off that moment.
