Terminator 2 over Terminator
Batman Begins over the rest of the Batman movies (even the first one, which is tough since it was well done)
Aliens over Alien
Godfather 2 over Godfather (barely - both were outstanding)
Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan over all the other ST movies
Empire Strikes Back (more complete and powerful storyline than the other films)
Army of Darkness over Evil Dead
X-Men 2 over X-Men
The Return of the King over the other two LOTR films
The latest Bond film (Casino Royale) has blown away most of the James Bond movies without much effort (It was THAT GOOD)

Godfather 2 is the most famous better sequel.The Empire Strikes Back is maybe the best Star Wars movie-better than the original anyway.

whatchya talking about! Free Willy 7 was WAY better than Free WIlly 1 - 6 - jokes! can't think of any either! Oh, Kill Bill vol2 was WICKED! but it isn't really a sequel, more a part 2. oh, and I also much prefer Fraiser to Cheers (but its not a movie - its a tv series but its kinda the only "follow on" tv series I prefer to the original.)

I liked Spiderman 2 better than the original. The Godfather 2, Shrek 2, and Toy Story 2 are all arguably better than their predecessors.

Evil Dead 2 is better than the original in my opinion, but It's status as a sequel is debated because it is basically a re-telling of the first Evil Dead with a bigger budget.

Rocky II was a bit better then Rocky I; and I think X-2 was slightly better then the first X-men, and if spider-man 2 was a little faster paced it would be alot better then Spider-man. By the way I love all the movies i mentioned.
