The total area of Texas is 266,807 square miles
The total area of England (not Great Britain or the U.K.) is 93,000 square miles.
Simple maths states that England would fit into Texas 2.87 times going solely on area not shape.

England, excluding Wales, Scotland and N.Ireland, covers approximately 150,000sq miles (anyone wishing to work the exact figure please do so, same goes for Texas) Texas covers approximately 450,0000sq miles, purely by mathematics England would fit inside Texas 3 times. If you were to cut and paste an out line map of England and superimpose it on the map of Texas like a jig saw, you may fit it more times. I am sure someone will work out the exact amount, but I hope this rough figure helps.

NOTE: These areas are "land only" which means they do not include anything in the way of coastal waters. This is because the question was worded in such a way as to fit one "area" inside another.
UK: 241590 square kilometers (93278 square miles)
England only: 130422 square kilometers (50356 square miles)
Texas: 678051 square kilometers (261797 square miles)
England inside Texas = 261797 / 50356 = 5.199 times
UK inside Texas = 261797 / 93278 = 2.807 times
